YA Book Release: Solving For Ex by LeighAnn Kopans

Publisher: N/A
Genre: YA, Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 11th, 2014

Blurb from Goodreads:

1 crush on your best friend +
1 gorgeous, scheming new girl +
1 Mathletics competition =
1 big mess

SIMPLIFY.

Ashley Price doesn’t have much in life after being bullied so hard she had to leave her old school to live with her aunt and uncle in Pittsburgh. But the camera she borrowed from her best friend and secret crush Brendan, and her off the charts math abilities, make things a lot more bearable. Plus, since Brendan is the captain, making the school Mathletes team should be easy.

But when gorgeous new girl Sofia rolls in and steals Brendan, Ashley's place on the team, and her fragile foothold on the Mansfield Park Prep social totem pole, it’s on. Sofia is everything Ashley left her old school to escape. The only thing Ashley didn’t count on is Sofia’s sexy twin brother Vincent.

Vincent is not only the hottest boy in school, he’s charming, sweet, and he’s got his eye on Ashley. He’s also not taking no for an answer. There's no real reason Ashley shouldn't like Vincent, but with thebattle lines being drawn between her and Sofia, Ashley’s not sure which side he’s on. Or which side she wants him to be on.

She does know Sofia is trouble with a capital T, and she’s determined to make Brendan see it.

SOLVING FOR EX is a YA contemporary romance that remixes Mansfield Park as Clueless meets Mean Girls in a crazy mix of high school society, mathletic competition, and teenage romance.

Cute title! (:

Two YA Book Releases! Cress by M.M and Ignite Me by T.M!

Are you excited?! Cress Marissa Meyer and Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi is out today!

So like, um... it came out February 4, 2014...and like, I'm so excited to read it. And like, Omg. I just needed to spread the word.

Blurb from goodreads:
Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

So, like, um... if you haven't noticed, Ignite Me is also out. So..um...YES. I'M SO EXCITED TO READ THIS TOO! I love today, the thing that sucks is that I can't get it today.

Blurb from goodreads:

Juliette now knows she may be the only one who can stop the Reestablishment. But to take them down, she'll need the help of the one person she never thought she could trust: Warner. And as they work together, Juliette will discover that everything she thought she knew-about Warner, her abilities, and even Adam-was wrong.

Right? Short blurb. After reading some reviews on goodreads, there were some minor spoilers, so I'm not as excited. I mean...I just hope this book is a good ending to the trilogy and that it's not a time wasting book...especially after the first two amazing books.

Book Review: Starcrush by Justine Erler

Published: December 19th, 2013

Publisher: Trio Capital LLC

Pages: 237(ebook)

Genres: Young Adult, Paranormal

Blurb :
Close encounters of the crush-worthy kind. In the first novel of the Starcrush series, author Justine Erler introduces Genna Savoy, a psychically-gifted high school senior who finds herself torn between rival aliens who look ... spectacularly human.

Goodreads | Amazon | Starcrush Story Website

                                                                Review Time!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love this book! It's amazing from the start to finish. Once you're reading, you're a goner. You're going to be so captivated by this book it's not even funny.

This is about a girl, named Genna who is a psychically-gifted high school senior. She falls in love between two rival aliens, Elon and Byron. We meet Byron in the first book. He's amazing..to Genna..at least. Then, we meet Elon in the second book. He's gorgeous and so perfect. Just perfect.

Right after I started reading, I was captured. The plot is amazing and the alien characters are also amazing. You can see them develop throughout the whole novel, which is cool. Your mind is practically filled with hot boys like Byron and Elon everywhere. And Genna. She's beautifully written and I love how she isn't alien, like Byron and Elon, but someone who has a gift. A psyhic gift.

The characters are so surreal. Justine is amazing at creating characters so perfect and so detailed. I literally felt like I was there, watching them develop and their amazingly written love story. I wish the supporting characters were more involved though. Like Nick, Josh and the band. I felt like they were just painting the background, which is their job, but I prefer novels that have their supporting characters kind of like the main protagonist.

I loved how the novel was split in two, where we meet Byron first, then we meet Elon. It was very, very interesting, indeed, to read about one character when the other was gone. Also, Nick. Ah. Broke my heart.

Justine does an amazing job writing this novel. The dialogue was funny, yet serious and romantic at times. The details provided in this book gave me a clear image of their alien world. This novel is also very unpredictable. At the end of the book, you find out more about Elon and Byron. I hadn't and wasn't expecting what Byron was going to say. Incredible book!
 About the Author:
Justine Erler is a consultant with a background in health care management. She lives in central New Jersey with her husband and daughter. Starcrush is her first novel of the series, combining Books I and II, and was written while in search of the perfect vampire-alternative story.

About the author:
Sophie Jordan took her adolescent daydreaming one step further and penned her first historical romance in the back of her high school Spanish class. This passion led her to pursue a degree in English and History.

A brief stint in law school taught her that case law was not nearly as interesting as literature - teaching English seemed the natural recourse. After several years teaching high school students to love Antigone, Sophie resigned with the birth of her first child and decided it was time to pursue the long-held dream of writing.

In less than three years, her first book, Once Upon A Wedding Night, a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Nominee for Best First Historical, hit book shelves. Her second novel, Too Wicked To Tame, released in March 2007 with a bang, landing on the USA Today Bestseller's List.

About the author:
When her older brother was thirteen, he started a writing club with his friends and wouldn’t let her join because sje was only eight. She promptly swore that she would become a writer and make him sorry.
He still isn’t sorry. But in 2014 she will publish my first novel with Balzer+Bray/HarperCollins, so she guessed everything worked out okay.
Some other facts about her:
• She practices Shorinji Kempo, a Japanese martial art based on Shaolin Kung Fu.
• Cruel Beauty is her debut novel, but it is somewhere between the third and sixth that she ever completed, depending on how you count things. (There was the 40,000-word mess she called a novel when she was sixteen, and the 220,000-word mess she briefly pretended was a single novel in 2009.)
• NaNoWriMo changed her life and got her finishing novels again after a long hiatus. But Cruel Beauty is not a NaNoWriMo novel. (The NaNoWriMo project that changed everything was the 220,000-word mess. Someday she may even revise it.)
• She grew up as a homeschooler in Los Angeles, and she spent her childhood marinating in Greek mythology, which is where all the Greek elements in Cruel Beauty came from.
• Then she got a B.A. in English at the University of Dallas, and an M.St. in Medieval English at Oxford. Naturally, she moved to Seattle and got a job with computers.
• She had studied five languages (Spanish, French, Latin, Old Norse, and Japanese), though sadly she am still not able to speak any of them.
• She loves some things more than T. S. Eliot’s poetry. But not many things.
• She is represented by Hannah Bowman of Liza Dawson Associates.

About the author:

About the author:
She loves writing, reading, and dessert--but the order varies by the day. She wrote her first book in second grade about a woman who had a premature baby, complete with a "to scale" drawing of the baby's size--while her mom was pregnant. To say she was a bit precocious is putting it lightly. Now that she's an adult, she write books for teens that have magic and romance and kick-butt girls (and very few premature babies). She lives in Utah with her husband, two young sons and baby girl. She writes during naptime and the hours when most people are sleeping. Her  husband claims she should have a degree in "the art of multitasking." On occasion you will find here hiding in a bubble bath with a book and some Swedish Fish. She is represented by Josh Adams of Adams Literary.

Quotes:
“I couldn't breathe. I wanted him to keep touching me; I wanted to feel his whole body against mine again. But Rylan was here. Rylan was listening. Rylan, who had cared for me all along.
"Thank you," I said, my voice unsteady, and somehow I made myself move and turn away from his touch to stare at the tent again, my heart hammering. Rylan's back was still turned to me, but I could see how stiff he was, as if every muscle in his body was clenched.
"I hope you are able to rest well Alex," Damien said.
"You too," I said, making myself close my eyes, to pretend I was going to sleep. But inside, I thought, Rest well? Is he serious?
It was going to be a long night.”

“You're perfect," He said roughly, cutting off my protest. "And if I had to do it over again, I would save you every time." His mouth closed over mine and there was no more thought. No more worry. No more pain or loss or fear. There was only Damian. His arm tightened around me, crushing me to him. I clung to him as his lips moved on mine with a need and hunger that nearly overwhelmed me.”
